Protection against static and sparking
ULTRAPLEX EC tm and ESD are self-leveling, seamless floor toppings designed to help eliminate the undesirable effects of electrostatic discharge. The attractive floor toppings extend control in special areas, eliminating electrostatic discharge that can cause the failure of electrical components, the ignition of solvents and explosive chemicals and the damage of sensitive equipment and products. ULTRAPLEX EC and ESD provide an additional safety element for people and equipment not protected by workstation devices or in case workstation devices fail. And unlike conductive tile, ULTRAPLEX EC and ESD epoxy systems are monolithic, so they maintain electrical resistance integrity throughout the system.
Available in two resistance ranges, ULTRAPLEX is designed to meet the electrically conductive, electrostatic dissipative and anti-spark requirements for places such as electronic assembly areas, computer control rooms, clean rooms, paint plants and pyrotechnic processing and storage areas. Its non-porous, ultra-smooth surface resists gritting and traffic soil and is easy to clean. Above all, ULTRAPLEX EC and ESD offer a wear surface for protection where conductive tile isn’t enough.
Specialty Coatings Company Electronic Coatings Group is committed to developing products that control electrostatic discharge (ESD). Our line of conductive coatings have been formulated to eliminate static electricity by decreasing surface resistance and volume resistance. SPEC-STAT® meets EOS/ESD association standards and is custom manufactured to customer specifications. ESD coatings in any color. Spec-Stat® may be applied using roller, brush, spray gun or flooding (using a squeegee). Prior to application the floor surface must be clean and dry. If the floor surface is very smooth, the floor should be mechanically abraded to give a slight rough texture. Spec-Stat® ESD floor finish is re-coatable Clean and dry the surface before repainting. After painting, clean up is with warm water and soap. It is recommended that a test strip be applied to the floor prior to painting a large area, to check adhesion. It is recommended and may be necessary to apply a primer to a porous floor prior to applying Spec-Stat. Surface preparation instructions available upon request.
