The
PRM Pitch and Roll Tester is the newest product from Patton Engineering.
This outstanding laser based inspection system will analyze, determine and
report the static pitch and roll of a hard disk drive recording head. It's Quick, Its
Reliable and it has the potential of dramatically reducing your
manufacturing costs and augment the more expensive Fly Height Testers.
It's also ideal as a supporting tool next to Gold Ball Bonders supporting GMR
production.
The PRM has all the supporting technology to transfer data to almost and
data collection system via the RS232 data port or the high speed AUX network connection
port.
You can easily manipulate how the data is
presented on the screen. You can swap pitch and roll, reverse axis
for X and Y, and change signs for either pitch and roll. This allows
for the parts to be inspected at 0, 90 180 and 270 degree directions
PRM Static Attitude - HGA Pitch and Roll Tester
The PRM measures Pitch and Roll characteristics
of an Head Gimble Assembly (HGA). The pitch and roll are displayed graphically and
digitally. The PRM 6500 consists
mainly of an Enclosed Vision System with Optics, Single Board Computer and
Keyboard. This system allows for inputting head serial number,
lot number, operator numbers ect. which are specified as Tags. The pitch value
and roll value can be sent across to a network or stored locally on a memory. The
PRM has the capability of measuring +/- 5 degrees in both pitch and roll
directions. Specification limits can be set within these limits to display
and record weather the parts are in specification. Calibration is simple too. Pressing the
F8 key on the keyboard will
bring the user to the calibration menu screens where the system can be
calibrated and data stored.

and fixtures are integrated into the system and for a available for almost any
of the standard disk drive suspensions.
